Money raised from this neighborhood event is put back into our community in many ways such as:

Financial assistance for children to attend the summer arts camps at the Shadyside Center for the Arts
Winchester Thurston’s scholarship aid program
Installation of bike racks throughout the Shadyside
Block Watch signs in connection with our Public Safety Committee’s neighborhood Block Watch program
“Welcome to the Neighborhood” packets for new neighbors

Public Meeting: South Highland Avenue Bridge
Date: Tuesday, February 28, 2012 Open House: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Presentation: 6:30 PM
Location: East Liberty Presbyterian Church, 116 South Highland Avenue, East Liberty

The Highland Avenue Bridge will be closed and replaced in the not-too-distant future. The city is hosting a public meeting that will unveil: final design plans, construction schedule, detours, and more. All are invited to see what the city has planned to improve our neighborhoods and this important bridge that connects Shadyside and East Liberty.

Meetings: Assessment Appeal Assistance

The city is providing assessment appeal help to people who are age 65 and over, OR whose homes were valued at $150,000 or less in the previous assessment (2002-2011). You need to call 311 and set an appointment for one of these dates before coming.
At UCP, 4638 Centre Ave: 2/27 from 1pm to 6pm; 3/2 from 10:30am to 3:30pm.
At JCC, 5738 Forbes Ave: 3/20 from 10am to 2pm; 3/21from 10am to 2pm,

UPMC Shadyside's 10-year Master Plan has been published online and filed with the city. This plan encompasses traffic, parking and pedestrian changes that will certainly impact Shadyside and Bloomfield. Click here to read the plan.
