    The primary purpose of the Zoning Committee is to provide stewardship and active hands-on review of any new development or renovation in our community to ensure that such projects comply with City and neighborhood standards. In addition, and when appropriate, we assist in resolving issues connected with any development or renovation that may come about between neighbors and developers.

    With any new development or renovation, developers are encouraged to present their project at a regular monthly Shadyside Action Coalition meeting prior to seeking City approval for such project and prior to scheduling any hearings before the City Planning Commission or Zoning Board of Adjustment. There is a link below to our Developer’s Presentation Form that outlines the information required from developers for purposes of a presentation to the Shadyside Action Coalition.

    After a presentation on a new development or renovation, the Zoning Committee advises the Shadyside Action Coalition board about a suggested course of action and an actual or virtual vote is taken. Members of the Zoning Committee may appear before the City Planning Commission or Zoning Board of Adjustment.
