The Development Review Committee provides stewardship and hands-on review of new development or renovation to ensure that such projects comply with neighborhood standards.
We’re here to help
SAC works with neighbors, property owners, and developers to develop consensus around proposed home improvements, development projects and neighborhood issues. We facilitate meetings and gather ideas and feedback which help in strengthening our neighborhood. As the community organization representing Shadyside residents, we work closely with our Council representative and often provide letters of comment to the Zoning Board of Adjustment .
Our review process
To assist property owners and developers, we’re happy to meet at our regularly scheduled monthly meeting to review proposed plans, review goals, and to discuss opportunities for successful projects.
If your project involves a hearing before the Zoning Board of Adjustment, Planning Commission, Historic Review Commission, or other City commission, we’re here to help you through the approval process. It’s advisable to connect with us early in the development project.
Beginning in Spring 2019, SAC will review projects using the p4 Performance Measures, developed by the p4 initiative, to ensure that development aligns with priorities of our community in support of people, place, planet, and performance. The use of these measures establish a common framework to measure development impact on Pittsburgh neighborhoods. More information on the p4 Performance Measure and their intent can be found here.
If you would like to meet with us, please fill out this form and we’ll be in touch!
